Mysto and Pizzi

Mysto and Pizzi are the brains behind the Geico commercial version of Rockwell’s “Who’s watching me?” and their also the subject of my latest ‘man crush.’ I’ve been a DJ for 9+ years and I’ve fiddled around with beats and remixes but these guys personify what I’d like to achieve.

Here you can see how they came up with the beat:

And here’s the finished product:

I highly recommend their video blog. Very talented guys. I’ve been inspired and I’m going to try playing with Acid and Cubase to see if I have any sort of talent to do this stuff. I think this is the current version of the keyboard they use.

G.I. Joe – The Rise of Cobra

I was a bit nervous about this one but if it’s half as cool as the trailer I’m in!

Take note terrorist orginizations. THIS is how you do it. Stealing planes and bombing funerals are for weenies. Underwater bases, submarines shaped like stingrays and giant drill-tanks are where it’s at!

Baracuda – Where is the Love

I’ve neglected the music section for too long. For those that don’t know, I spent almost 9 years as a part time DJ for clubs, weddings etc, so I’m a huge fan of dance music. While listening to technobase.fm on shoutcast, I heard this remix/dance mix from Baracuda – Where is the Love (only one r in Baracuda).

These are my favorite kind of dance songs, ones where the artist uses recognizable parts of popular songs to make their own song. The sample on this song is from the rockin band Nightwish (whom I love!!!) so it effectively covers the best of both worlds for me. The fact that the singer is good lookin’ doesn’t hurt anything either :) . Enjoy!

p.s. After watching more Baracuda, they have more good music:

Orson Wells – AHHHHHH the French…

Apparently Orson was nipping the product he was selling a little bit before the shoot. Makes me laugh when the director scares him by saying action and Orson blurts out AHHHH the French.

And here’s a great parody.

Him doing it right!

and more making fun.
